Clipworx Articles in PDF
This study compares demonstration PDF files obtained at the Clipworx web site, in their Verity Demo, at: http://www.clipworx.com/verity/, and PDF provided directly by X-Cago, with DjVu files which were converted from the PDF files. The DjVu files were created without downsampling.
The DjVu file size, thanks to the excellent JB2 compression method used for bitonal images, the IW44 compression method used for color images, and the color-image segmenter of DjVu, is 27% of the size of the PDF-format article samples.
Compare the Results
Use the chart below to launch PDF and DjVu files. Things to look for are the time it takes for the first page to display, the image quality, and overall simplicity and ease of use.
Zoom in to inspect character formation.
Navigate to additional pages before the document has completely downloaded, and observe the behaviour of each document format.
Note that in both PDF and DjVu files, page 1 displays while the additional pages download in the background.
